Ok, so the login part - there is option to turn on/off the registration and it's off by default. That would not help you anyway here, since you can create admin account only once, there is a script - scripts/reset_password.py , but ofcourse this is not full solution.
This is very meaningful feedback to me - I will probably add info about these account being local near the admin creation form (since this would be the first interaction of the owner of the instance). And yes - (by default)* this is totally local & self-hosted. Nothing goes out instance - if you want to fetch civitai/huggingface models you call it intentionally through the forms/buttons. I don't gather any metrics etc. literally nothing.
- why by default? The app is also ready for user to share it in the network (users/privileges etc.) and I imagine you can even host it on some kind of VPS and attach remote worker (runpod) or cloud models (openrouter, flux etc.) and allow users to generate using your keys (BYK). But all of these are features and user has control over all data in the app - nothing comes "to me" EVER.
Again, thanks for the feedback, this is gold.
Edit: OK, I know my mistake - I was pointing to existing models directory while testing with Pinokio. Now I've started the installation same as you - it should be fixed now (update the installer). There was also a hole in test suite in the app, which indeed made this buggy.
