Terms of Service

The Registry

The Registry helps users discover, discuss, save, check into, and launch open-source applications. It indexes public repository metadata, provides community posts and comments, supports optional GitHub owner linking, and connects with Pinokio desktop flows for check-ins and draft imports.

The Registry does not own the third-party repositories, models, scripts, packages, or applications listed on app pages unless expressly stated. App pages and install links are provided for discovery and convenience.

Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Registry.
• If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Registry only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• If you use the Registry for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms.
• We may require email verification, approval, invitations, or security checks before allowing some actions.

Your Content

You keep ownership of content you submit to the Registry, including posts, comments, profile text, tags, uploaded media, check-ins, and app submissions. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or transcoding, display, distribute, and use your content as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Registry.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that your content does not violate law, these Terms, or the rights of others. Public content may be viewed by other users and indexed by search engines.

Repository Submissions and App Pages

• You may submit only public repository URLs that you are allowed to submit and that do not violate the rights or terms of others.
• You authorize the Registry to fetch, clone, cache, index, display, and refresh public metadata from submitted repositories.
• Repository owners keep their existing rights and open-source licenses. These Terms do not change third-party repository licenses.
• We may remove, hide, reindex, rate-limit, or refuse app pages or repository data at any time.
• We do not guarantee that indexed metadata is complete, current, safe, accurate, or endorsed by the repository owner.

Third-Party Apps and Code

Installing or running applications, scripts, models, packages, or other code from third-party repositories is your responsibility. Review the source, license, permissions, network behavior, and system requirements before installing or running anything. The Registry is not responsible for harm caused by third-party code, external services, repository maintainers, models, data, or dependencies.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Registry. For example, you may not:

• Violate law, infringe rights, or submit content you do not have permission to submit.
• Post harassment, threats, hate, abuse, sexual exploitation, or content that encourages violence or self-harm.
• Upload malware, malicious links, deceptive content, credential phishing, spam, or other harmful material.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, security checks, rate limits, moderation, or access controls.
• Scrape, crawl, or automate access in a way that burdens, disrupts, or abuses the Registry.
• Interfere with the Registry, its infrastructure, users, or connected third-party services.
• Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, repository ownership, or the safety or purpose of an app.

Moderation and Enforcement

We may review, hide, remove, restore, lock, rank, limit, or otherwise moderate accounts, posts, comments, apps, tags, reports, recommendations, and other Registry activity. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, or used the Registry in a way that harms users or the service.

Copyright Complaints

You may not submit content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights. If you believe content on the Registry infringes your copyright, contact legal@pinokio.co with enough information for us to identify the copyrighted work, the material you believe is infringing, where it appears on the Registry, and how to contact you. We may remove or restrict content that we believe infringes rights or violates these Terms, and we may suspend repeat infringers.

GitHub and Other Integrations

If you connect GitHub or use another integration, your use of that integration is also subject to the third-party service's terms and policies. You authorize us to use integration data as described in the Privacy Policy and as needed to provide the requested feature.

No Paid Services

The current Registry code does not include payments, subscriptions, or paid plans. If paid features are added, additional payment terms may apply.

Service Changes and Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Registry at any time. We do not guarantee that the Registry will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available in every location.

Disclaimers

The Registry is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinokio and its operators, maintainers, contributors, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, security incidents, third-party code, or service interruption arising from or related to your use of the Registry. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Registry will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the Registry in the 12 months before the claim.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pinokio and its operators, maintainers, contributors, agents, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the Registry, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where the laws of your place of residence require otherwise. Subject to any rights you may have under applicable law, disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Registry after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
